Sage tops Maritime, 72-59 for season sweep of Privateers

Throggs Neck, NY--- The Sage Colleges men's basketball team posted a 72-59 road win over Maritime College on Tuesday evening. Sage improves to 11-10 overall and 9-8 in the Skyline Conference and owns a three-game win streak. Maritime drops to 8-13 overall and 6-10 in the league.
Sage led 36-29 at the break and the held the Privateers to just 16.7% from three-point range.
For the game, Sage got 16 points from junior forward Dalton Austin-Michaud (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane), while sophomore Matt Farbotko (Rouses Point, NY/Northeastern Clinton) tallied 15 points. Both junior Pat Lanoue (Troy, NY/Hoosic Valley Central) and senior Derick Faragon (Rotterdam Junction, NY/Schenectady) added 14 points. All told, Sage's starters had 59 of the team's 72 points and helped the team add another keep league win. Sage swept the Privateers this season after posting a 77-70 win the Kahl Center one month ago.
Sage will travel to College of St. Joseph's (VT) for a 7 p.m. non-conference match-up on Thursday, February 10.
