SARATOGA, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Baseball, who was ranked nationally for the first time earlier today, completed their non-conference slate with a road test against Skidmore on Tuesday evening and won their sixth straight game 10-8.

The Gators (30-5/18-1 E8) scored in seven different innings to pick up the non-conference victory. 

Joseph Karpierz (Latham, NY/Shaker/Xavier) had three hits including a pair of doubles in the win. The senior scored three times, drove in a run, and drew a pair of walks.

Four others tallied a pair of hits. Senior Anthony Rizzo (Latham, NY/Shaker/HVCC), freshman Nick Irizarry (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield), sophomore Nick Chicaway (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes), and senior Collin Casey (Marlboro, NY/Marlboro/Saint Rose) all had two knocks. Rizzo, Irizarry, and Casey each drove home a run.

Senior Evan Grimes (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and sophomore Darren Dengler (Hobart, NY/South Kortright), the top two RSC home run hitters, added to their totals with big flys. Grimes hit a two-run shot in the first inning, and Dengler added a solo shot in the top of the ninth.

Juniors Connor Griffin (Jersey Shore, PA/Jersey Shore/Lock Haven) and Tyler Murray (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia/HVCC) combined for 6.2 innings on the hill in the non-conference action.

Murray earned his fifth win with his effort, and was backed up by Grimes, who went from centerfield to the mound to secure his first save of 2026.

The Gators wrap their regular season this weekend with a three-game set at Elmira.
