Bio

As a rookie, guard Troy Nwanna, was named the recipient of the Most Improved Award for his efforts on and off the basketball court. Nwanna came on strong for the Gators as the season progressed. He started the team’s season finale and tallied nine points with seven rebounds. Overall on the year, he played in 23 games and connected on a 4.8 ppg average with 2.2 rpg. He averaged 13.5 minutes a game and had 30 assists with 14 steals.

As a sophomore last year, he opened his campaign with a personal-best 17 points in the team’s win over Norwich University. He started six of 15 games, but missed a number of contests with a late-season injury. He added a 6.3 ppg average with a 3.9 rpg average as well during the season. He was the high-scorer one time last year, while leading the Gators on the boards on two occasions.

He has played in 38 games at Sage with 7 starts and has 205 career points with 110 rebounds. He has 35 career steals with 47 career assists, while averaging 15.3 minutes a game over the past two seasons.

He is a graduate of Mercersburg Academy, where he captured varsity letters in basketball, football, lacrosse, and track and field. A team captain in basketball as a senior, he was voted the team's Most Improved Player as a junior. He was also a gold medalist in track in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays.

At Sage he is active on campus. He serves as the president of the Law and Society Club, while participating as a member of SALANA. He is an accomplished scholar-athlete having earned a spot on the 2011-2012 Skyline Scholar-Athlete Team. His brother, Cody Addison is on the basketball team at Colby-Sawyer College, while his cousin, Alvin Onyewuenyi plays soccer at Johns Hopkins University. He is majoring in business administration at Sage and was named to the Sage Spring Scholar-Athlete Team as well last year. He is the son of Bright Nwanna and Glenda Presbury.
