Another of the Gators’ two-sport student-athletes, Melissa Spring has participated in both soccer and lacrosse for Sage.

A 14-game starter as a rookie on Sage’s 2012 women’s soccer team, she garnered considerable experience as a rookie. She started 13 of 16 games, while connecting for a goal with two assists for four points. As a sophomore in soccer, she added one goal and an assist, while starting 14 of 15 games played in the midfield.  

A starter in women’s lacrosse in 2012, she played in every game with one goal. She added 15 ground ball pickups with 12 draw controls. She followed up her rookie lacrosse campaign, earning a start in all 15 games and tallying two goals and an assist, while scooping up 16 ground balls with 10 draw controls and six caused turnovers. She has now started 27 games for the Gators, which ranks fourth best on the career list, while playing in 29 contests, also tied for fourth highest among all players.

She is a former stand-out at both Penfield High School and Webster Thomas, where she was a soccer team captain. While at Penfield, her team won the sectionals and the regionals, while finishing third in the state in the Section AA tournament.

Spring is majoring in graphic design at Sage and is the daughter of Thomas and Amy Spring. Active on campus she is involved with Sage’s SAAC.
