Pair of Gators Honored on Saturday

The visiting Soaring Eagles built a 19-0 halftime lead to pick up a 25-13 Empire 8 Conference road victory.
Sophomore Hailey Blake (Schenectady, NY/Colonie Central) hauled in a pair of passes from junior Bianca Ricciuto (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central/SUNY Poly) to account for the Gator points. She finished with 10 receptions for 91 yards.
Junior Cassidy Weiher (Aurora, CO/Cherokee Trail/Southern Maine) added six catches for 82 yards, while sophomore Kaleigh Dean (Salt Point, NY/FDR) topped all participants with nine tackles and three sacks.
Before the contest, the Russell Sage College Athletic Department recognized seniors Aniyah Kelley (New Castle, DE/William Penn) and Morgan Potter (Poland, NY/Poland Central) for their positive impacts on the program this inaugural spring. After the pregame ceremony, the duo contributed offensively and defensively during the contest. Kelley reeled in two passes for 41 yards, while making seven tackles, two of which were for loss, including a sack. Potter registered three tackles, a pair of pass breakups, and tallied 10 yards receiving.
Freshman Nyla Capen keyed the road win for Elmira (3-3/1-3 E8). The rookie completed 24-of-33 passes for 231 yards and three touchdowns. She also carried 14 times for 31 yard and a touchdown. Capen paced the Soaring Eagle defense with six tackles, two for loss, and picked off a Ricciuto pass.
After playing its first-ever four contests at home, the Gators go on the road for the first time on Friday at SUNY Geneseo.

Potter registered the program's first interception in the contest...RSC, under the direction of Denver Divens, tallied the program's first triumph on March 31 vs. Hartwick by a score of 31-28...Kelley hauled in three touchdown passes that afternoon, including the game-winning points with 37 seconds remaining.
