Newburgh, NY--- The Gators of The Sage Colleges fell on the road to the Knights of Mt. St. Mary College on Wednesday evening in a Skyline Conference contest. MSMC's Carlos Valdez exploded for 32 points with 18 rebounds to pace his team to the win as they improve to 14-5 overall and 9-3 in the Skyline Conference. Sage drops to 9-10 overall and 5-8 in the league.
The game saw the Knights hold a 29-23 lead at the break before outscoring the Gators 42-21 in the second stanza. Valdez had 19 second half points to pace the Knights and hit 13-of-19 of his shots from the floor in the game.
Sage's sophomore guard Mason Horne (Albany, NY/La Salle Institute) tallied 13 points, while senior Pat Lanoue (Troy, NY/Hoosic Valley Central) added four points with eight rebounds.
Sage returns to action on February 4 travelling to St. Joseph's College for a 5:15 p.m. Skyline Conference contest on the road.
