Madore Honored as a Capital District Sports Woman of the Year
SCHENECTADY, NY – Russell Sage College Softball pitcher Leah Madore (Williamsville, Vt./Battleboro Union) was officially recognized as a collegiate award recipient for 2025 by the Capital District Sports Women of the Year organization.
SCHENECTADY, NY – Russell Sage College Softball pitcher Leah Madore (Williamsville, Vt./Battleboro Union) was officially recognized as a collegiate award recipient for 2025 by the Capital District Sports Women of the Year organization.
The right-hander, the school leader for career strikeouts and strikeouts in a season, was honored at the Capital District Sports Women of the Year Awards Gala, held on Monday, August 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the GE Theatre at Proctors in Schenectady.
Madore, second among RSC hurlers with 420.2 career innings pitched, ranked third in school career records in appearances, complete games and victories. The three-time All-Empire 8 Conference selction, who tossed no-hitters in back-to-back starts this April, helped the Gators qualify for the E8 Championship Tournament for the fifth-straight year.
Madore, part of the graduating RSC Class of 2025, was selected for the 2024 and 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Softball Team. The psychology major, part of the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 RSC Athletic Honor Society, regularly appeared on the Empire 8 Conference Presidents' List and the RSC Dean's List.
The Capital District Sports Women of the Year (CDSWOY) honors the best and brightest female student athletes from high schools and colleges in the Capital District of New York State.
