Sage names Jackie Luszczek head women's lacrosse coach
Jackie Luszczek will replace Andrea Hanley as the coach for the women's lacrosse program for the coming year.
Troy, NY----The Sage Colleges Athletic Director, Dani Drews announced the selection of Jackie Luszczek to serve as the head coach of women’s lacrosse at the College. Luszczek currently serves as the head women’s basketball coach at Sage.
Dani Drews, Athletic Director said of the selection, “Jackie’s experience and ability as a head coach and a leader for our female student-athletes will help our program as we continue to develop and build the foundation for the future of the sport of lacrosse here at Sage.” She will remain the head women’s basketball coach and will also serve as the full-time coach of the women’s lacrosse program, replacing Andrea Hanley, who resigned earlier this summer to pursue her career outside of coaching. Hanley served as the head coach of the program for three seasons, including two with the team as a varsity program.
The 2011 season will mark the third season of varsity competition for the program, which will compete as a member of the Skyline Conference. Luszczek inherits a program that graduated just two seniors in 2010 and is excited about the opportunity to help Sage build a tradition of athletic success and continuity in the sport.
Luszczek came to Sage in 2005 and has served as the head women’s basketball coach for the last five seasons. Twice during her tenure the program has garnered the Skyline Conference Team Sportsmanship award. During her tenure at Sage, she has also served as the Sports Information Director from 2005 until the summer of 2009.
