Albany, NY—The Sage Colleges' department of athletics gathered to recognize and honor the outstanding performances of the 2018-2019 year with the naming of the athletic award winners for the 17 varsity athletic teams. In addition to awarding the Gator Award, for the Most Outstanding Player, the department also named the 2018-2019 Female and Male Rookies of the Year as well as the 2018-2019 Female and Male Athletes of the Year. Sage also selected the Dean Sharon Robinson Senior Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year, which is given to the senior student-athlete with the highest overall grade point average, as well as the Aggie Stillman Perseverance Award.

Additionally, Sage honored a member of the athletic community as the "Fan of the Year." The award was bestowed to Sage's Dr. Kim Frederick for her passion to support Sage's athletic department and the student-athletes. Frederick, the Dean of the School of Management at Sage has been an avid supporter of the Sage student-athletes and been involved with everything from support at athletic events to organizing and facilitating student study groups and academic workshops for the betterment of the Sage student-athletes.

Director of Athletics Sandy Augstein-Collins noted, "Our Fan of the Year, Dr. Kim Fredericks, has been a tremendous asset for the Sage Athletic Department and a true advocate for all of our student-athletes." Augstein-Collins added, "She is always willing to help out, she cheers on our student-athletes, promotes our department on campus, and helped lead workshops on campus for our student-athletes on important topics such as time management, study skills, and finals prep.  It is an honor to name Kim our fan of the year!"
