Giovanna Fichera

At Sage:

• Gator newcomer in 2016, she started 12 of 18 games played as a rookie.
• Tallied 10 points on 4 goals with 2 assists.
• Capped her 2017 season off with 5 points on 2 goals with an assist in 16 games played.
• She was rewarded for her outstanding leadership and play as the 2017 Gator of the Year.
• Named a team captain for the 2018 season, she started 16 of 18 games played on the year.
• She was honored as the Gator of the Year for her junior season and helped the team earn a spot in the Empire 8 playoffs.
• Entering the 2019 season, she has played in 52 career games and has 17 points on 7 goals with 3 assists.
• She will reprise her role as a team captain in 2019.

Academics at Sage:

• Majoring in health sciences with a path to occupational therapy.
• Has earned multiple Dean’s List selections and was named to the Sage Scholar-Athlete Team as well in 2017-2018 and again in 2018-2019.
• She was selected to Sage’s Athletic Honor Society and was also picked as an Empire 8 Presidents’ List honoree.
• Named to 2016 Skyline Conference Scholar-Athlete Team and the 2017-2018 Empire 8 Presidents’ List.
  

High School:

• Attended Cornwall Central High School and earned letters in both soccer and ski racing.
• Team captain in soccer, she was also the recipient of the Coaches’ Award and Scholar-Athlete Award.
• In skiing, she was team captain twice and earned the Varsity Ski Racing Section 9 Sportsmanship Award.
• She was a five-time state championship qualifier and a medalist at the state championship as a senior.
• Named Scholar-Athlete at Mt. Snow Academy and earned National Honor Society honors.

            She is the daughter of Michael and Cynthia Fichera.
