Seniors dominate play as Gators finish with a 9-0 win over Yeshiva
Kathryn Saulsbery posted her 50th career win as Sage topped the Maccabees in women's tennis play on Sunday.
Edgewater, NJ ----Sage's women's tennis team faced Yeshiva
University on Sunday in the team's final match of the season. The
Gators dominated Yeshiva, tallying a 9-0 win, the team's third 9-0
win of the year. Sage finished the season with a 5-7 overall and
3-4 in the Skyline Conference. Yeshiva drops to 0-5 overall and 0-5
in the conference.
The contest marked the final appearance for three of Sage's tennis players, seniors Kathryn Saulsbery (Colonie, NY/South Colonie Central), Ashley Brennan (Loudonville, NY/Colonie Central), and Lauren Schroder (Enfield, CT/Enrico Fermi). The trio all wrapped their collegiate careers with wins, while Saulsbery's double's victory with teammate, sophomore Mackenzie Riley (Albany, NY/Albany) was the 50th of her career. She tacked on her 51st win with a win at No. 2 singles. She finishes her career as a three-time team captain and boasts a 51-44 record as a Gator.
Mackenzie Riley led all Gators this year with her impressive 9-1 record in singles play, including a 5-1 mark in Skyline Conference matches.
