Mango named Skyline Conference Player of the Week
New York, NY –The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team member senior middle hitter Mickey Mango (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) was named the Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week. Named the MVP of the Elms College Trailblazer Invitational Tournament, she helped the Gators to a 4-0 week last week, while the team repeated as champions of the Elms Tournament.
On the week, she averaged 2.29 kills and 1.0 blocks over 14 sets a with a .333 attack percentage. She now ranks fourth in program annals with 221 career blocks. On the season, she 32 kills with 14 total blocks and has played in 14 sets.
She continues to climb the Gators' career record book as well as she has 521 career kills, which is No. 11 all-time. She moved ahead of Jessica Nelson (2005-2007) who had been o. 11 with 505 kills.
Sage will be in action on September 11 and 12 at the SUNY-New Paltz Hawk Invitational. The Gators will open up facing SUNY-New Paltz at 3 p.m. on Friday and Stockton University on September 11 at 7 p.m. The Tournament wraps on September 12 with Sage facing New York University at 11 a.m. and Fredonia State at 3 p.m.
