Women's Soccer to Hold Annual Gators' Aid Game on Saturday, October 11
ALBANY - Russell Sage College Women's Soccer will hold its annual Gators' Aid game on Saturday, October 11 vs. Nazareth.
ALBANY - Russell Sage College Women's Soccer will hold its annual Gators' Aid game on Saturday, October 11 vs. Nazareth.
This year's fundraiser at the ACPHS Athletic Complex will support local charities that provide new and gently used sports gear for underprivileged athletes.
At the 1:00 PM Empire 8 Conference matinee, there will bins collecting sports gear for these organizations. Bins will also be located on both the Albany and Troy campuses leading up to the contest.
"We're giving back to our communities near and far by collecting sports gear so every athlete has the chance to experience the same joy, teamwork, and passion that the game has given us," commented Head Coach Garrett Cobb.
Gator Bites with Papa John's: The Gators are coming off of their third-straight appearance in the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament…RSC, the 2020-21 E8 champs, has 16 players back from last year's squad…Junior goalkeeper Olivia Horan (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville), senior midfielder Jaclyn Benedetti (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes), and senior forward Gianna Viscusi (Duanesburg, NY/Schalmont) highlight the returning Gators…Horan commenced the autumn with a 0.95 career goals-against average, a program record, and sat third among RSC keepers with 11 career shutouts…Head Coach Garrett Cobb, now in his tenth season at the helm of the Gators, added 12 newcomers to the program.
