Shane Wenz

At Sage:

  • A returning letterwinner, Shane Wenz played in 80 sets as a Gator rookie in 2017. He added an impressive 223.0 points along the way in 2017 with 163 kills. He also picked up 16 aces to go with his team-best 66 total blocks. His numbers from 2017 rank third in single-season solo blocks (22) and seventh in total blocks, while his 0.82 blocks per set average is 6th best as well for the single-season record book at Sage.
  • He was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week once (2/27/17) as well on the season.
  • As a sophomore, Wenz started 19 of 24 matches played. He was fourth on the team with his 154.0 points and collected 106 kills with a .268 attack percentage. Along the way, he added 10 aces with 58 digs, and was second on the team with his 67 total blocks. He averaged 0.93 blocks per set in 2018 and now has 133 career total blocks.
  • As a junior, Wenz played in 24 matches, while adding 131 kills with 173.5 points. He picked up a 1.82 kills per set average to go with 16 aces and 94 digs. He also connected for 40 total blocks with a .920 reception percentage having made just 24 receiving errors in 224 attempts.
