Arp Takes Home E8 Golfer of the Week Honors
ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College junior Ryan Arp (Greenville, NY/Greenville CAD) was tabbed the Empire 8 Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for the period ending Sunday, April 26.
He finished first overall in Saturday and Sunday's Oswego State Spring Invitational.
Arp began the weekend carding a +3 on Saturday, and came back on Sunday shooting an even par 70 to secure medalist honors.
The Gators placed second overall as a team with a combined score of +47 across the two-day event.
RSC wraps up its campaign on Monday at Nazareth.
Gator Bites with Papa John's: RSC finished second overall at the Empire 8 Conference Championships...The Gators had their best finish in program history across the four rounds...Following the historic finish, Head Coach Kevin Cain earned E8 Coach of the Year honors for the first time…Sophomore Luke Finlan (Albany, NY/LaSalle Inst.) earned medalist honors at the E8 Fall Championships, carding a two-day score of +6...Freshman Jackson Vatter (Selkirk, NY/Bethlehem Central) led the charge in the spring portion of the Empire 8 Conference Championships with a two-day score of +14…Finlan was tied for seventh, while Vatter finished tied for ninth...Finlan and Vatter garnered second-team All-E8, while Arp earned a spot on the third-team.
