Gators Win on "Senior Day"
ALBANY, N.Y. – After recognizing nine senior student-athletes before the game, Russell Sage College Men's Soccer moved to 2-0 with this afternoon's 1-0 shutout of the visiting Pratt Institute.

ALBANY, N.Y. – After recognizing nine senior student-athletes before the game, Russell Sage College Men's Soccer moved to 2-0 with this afternoon's 1-0 shutout of the visiting Pratt Institute.
Sophomore midfielder Anthony Geis (Newburgh, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) tallied the lone goal of the Labor Day matinee in the 40th minute.
The Gators made the marker stand up in the second half, holding advantages of 4-1 on shots, and 4-0 on corners following the break.
"We are really happy about the result," said Head Coach Amir Pasic. "Pratt frustrated us and tested us in ways we haven't been tested yet. We have a great senior group and are thrilled we could win after honoring them."
Freshman Mateja Milutin (Vojvodina, Novi Sad, Serbia/The Kiski School) (Win, 2-0-0) registered three saves in relief of starter Sean Nemeth (Grand Island, NY/O'Hara/Wells), one of nine Gators recognized prior to the contest.
Sophomore midfielder Omri Hadad led the Cannoneers (0-2-0) with three shot attempts.
The Gators (2-0-0) are back on the pitch on Friday afternoon against Keene State
Senior Day: Before the contest, Russell Sage College Athletics recognized nine student-athletes: Nemeth, midfielder Samir Filho (Boituva, Brazil/Colégio Adventista Terra Mater Finance/Saint Rose), defender Thomas Dominic Whalen (Arlington, VT/Arlington Memorial/Saint Rose), forward John Lewis Whalen (Arlington, VT/Arlington Memorial/Saint Rose), defender Zachary Bischoff (Panama City, FL/J.R. Arnold), midfielder Connor Swart (Walden, NY/Valley Central), forward Joel Tshiamala (Banyoles, Girona, Spain/Sports EDU/Marietta), midfielder Abid Ali (Hudson, NY/Hudson), and forward Zakaria Toure (New York, NY/International/Eastern Nazarene), for their contributions to the men's soccer program.
Gator Bites with Papa John's: Pasic is in his fourth season at the helm of the Gators…RSC is coming off an appearance in the Quarterfinals of the 2024 Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament…21 players are back from last autumn…There are 11 newcomers on this year's squad.
