Purchase, NY — Russell Sage College's field hockey team traveled to Manhattanville College on Wednesday afternoon for a non-conference match. Despite the Gators scoring first, the Valients posted a 6-1 win marking the team's first victory of the 2021 season.MC is now 1-12 overall, while the loss puts RSC at 1-10.
RSC's junior Alyssa Fitzgerald (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) scored for the Gators and now has two goals this fall.
RSC's senior goalie Abigayle Greier (Elma, NY/Iroquois Central) made 20 saves in the action and drops to 1-10 in goal. She adds to her active career saves mark with 398 saves.
The Gators are back in action on October 9 travelling to Washington & Jefferson College for a 10 a.m. Empire 8 contest with the Presidents.
