Gators See Season Come to a Close in the E8 Quarterfinals

The host Knights, the four seed, used a 16-3 run spanning the third and fourth quarters to punch their ticket to Wednesday's Semifinal round.
Senior Layla Acosta (Haines City, FL/Haines City) topped the Gators (15-11) with 16 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. The guard, who commenced the postseason ranked fourth in the Conference in scoring average, had ten of her points in the first half to have RSC, seeded fifth, trail by only five, 25-20, at the break. She finished the campaign ranked fourth in program records with 1,276 career points.
Junior forward Kallie Hopkins (Millsboro, DE/Poly Tech), among the E8 rebounding leaders, added nine points and six rebounds, while guard Kyla Smith (Sprakers, NY/Fonda-Fultonville/Fredonia)
Senior forward Grace Galgano led SUNY Geneseo (18-8) with 18 points and nine rebounds.
The Knights, which only trailed for 27 seconds, will face top-seeded Nazareth in the Semifinals on Wednesday.
