ELMIRA, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Women's Soccer snapped a three-match slide with tonight's 4-0 Empire 8 Conference victory at Elmira.
Senior forward Gianna Viscusi (Duanesburg, NY/Schalmont) scored three goals to help the Gators secure the three points.
Senior midfielder Maria Stewart (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) netted the other RSC goal, while sophomore goalkeeper Hailey Blake (Schenectady, NY/Colonie Central) (Win, 2-0-0) stopped the lone Elmira (2-6-0/1-2-0 E8) shot on target.
RSC (3-5-0/1-2-0 E8) hosts SUNY Geneseo on Saturday afternoon.
Gator Bites with Papa John's: The Gators are coming off of their third-straight appearance in the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament…RSC, the 2020-21 E8 Champs, has 16 players back from last year's squad…Junior goalkeeper Olivia Horan (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville), senior midfielder Jaclyn Benedetti (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes), and Viscusi highlight the returning Gators…Horan commenced the autumn with a 0.95 career goals-against average, a program record, and sat third among RSC keepers with 11 career shutouts… Head Coach Garrett Cobb, now in his tenth season at the helm of the Gators, added 12 newcomers to the program.
