Viscusi Voted Second-Team All-E8
ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Women's Soccer senior forward Gianna Viscusi (Duanesburg, NY/Schalmont) was voted second-team All-Empire 8 Conference. Results of the voting, conducted by the league's head coaches, were announced by the E8 earlier today.
Viscusi topped the Gators with 19 points and eight goals. She finished her season ranked fourth in the E8 in goals and fifth in points. The forward, who scored three game-winning goals during the regular season, good for tied for third in the Conference, registered a program and Conference single-game record 10 points on four goals and two assists in the "Senior Day" win vs. Keuka on October 18.
The senior, just the sixth Gator to score four goals in a single game, was tabbed the E8 Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, October 19. She also tallied a hat trick in the road victory at Elmira on September 24.
"Gianna's consistency and leadership anchored our team all season," commented Head Coach Garrett Cobb. "She set the tone with her work rate in every practice and game and composure on the ball, especially in front of goal, and this All-Conference recognition is well deserved."
One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2025 E8 Women's Soccer Tomorrow's Leaders Team. This team honors a student-athlete who has emerged as a leader not only on the field of play, but in the classroom and in the community. In addition, they "compete with honor and integrity" and have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen. Senior midfielder Lydia Reimer (Newport, NY/West Canada Valley/Herkimer County CC) represented the Gators (5-9-3/3-6-2 E8) on the squad.
"Lydia's leadership and competitiveness has a huge impact on our team," said Cobb, who completed his tenth season at the helm of RSC. "She gives everything for the team and embodies what it means to be a Gator. The Tomorrow's Leader Award is a perfect reflection of her potential and bright future ahead of her."
