Sage men's cross country team posts 8th place at Wildcat Invitational
Utica, NY–Sage's men's cross country team opened the new season on Saturday running at the SUNY-IT Wildcat Invitational, a 6K course.
SUNY-ESF won the 13-team event with a score of 38, while SUNY-IT took second with a score of 64. Sage finished in 8th place with a 191.
Sage's top runner was sophomore Jesus Vaquez-Lopez (Latham, NY/Shaker) as he picked up 19th place in 21:18.6. Next for the Gators was rookie Juan Reyes-Alvarez (Latham, NY) in 28th in 22:17.8. Sophomore Sean Alvarado (Shokan, NY/Onteora) took 35th in 22:34.3.
Senior Cory Alvarado (Shokan, NY/Onteora) took 48th in 23:22.6, while junior Bryan Kelly (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley Central) took 61st in 24:11.6. Sophomore Taylor McMillen (Wyantskill, NY/Averill Park) picked up 82nd place in 27:48.9, while sophomore Richard Parker (Scotia, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake) took 85th in 29:02.6. Junior Anthony Crawford (Bronx, NY/Frederick Douglass Academy) netted a time of 30:43.1 to place 136th.
