Sage runners finish in 25th at ECAC's

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Cross Country Championships were held on Saturday, November 3, at Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, Massachusetts. In front of a large crowd on a windy and cool morning, over 100 institutions and 800 student-athletes from colleges all over the Northeast came to Saturday's event, hosted by Williams College and the ECAC.
Amherst College won the Men's Championship with a final team score of 44. Sam Haney, a senior from Tufts University won the men's championship with an individual time of 26:22.
Sage College's men's cross country team picked up 25th place while running at the event.
For the Sage men's team, rookie Juan Reyes-Alvarez (Latham, NY/Shaker) was the first Gator finisher in 52nd with his time of 28:03.61. Sophomore Jesus Vaquez-Lopez (Latham, NY/Shaker) finished in 76th place for the Gators in a time of 28:42.35. Junior Bryan Kelly (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley Central) took home 149th in 30:16.89.
Senior Cory Alvarado (Shokan, NY/Onteora) finished in 188th place in 31:29.90, while sophomore Taylor McMillen (Wyantskill, NY/Averill Park) picked up 260th in a time of 35:16.08. Junior Anthony Crawford (Bronx, NY/Frederick Douglass Academy) added a 271st place finish in 38:46.21.
Next up for Sage is the 2012 Skyline Conference Championships on November 7 at Chadwick Lake Park, Newburgh, NY.
