Gators Fall in E8 Quarterfinals
BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Women's Volleyball saw its fall come to a close in the Quarterfinals of the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament with this afternoon's 3-0 (26-24, 25-15, 25-15) loss at SUNY Brockport.

Junior setter Cassidy Weiher (Aurora, CO/Cherokee Trail/Southern Maine) topped the Gators (11-14/6-5 E8), the six seed, with eight kills on .286 hitting, six assists, two digs, a block and an ace.
Senior outside hitter Ashleigh Gerkman (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) added seven kills on .227 hitting, with freshman outside hitter Paige Kemmer (Voorheesville, NY/Clayton A. Bouton) killing off five rallies.
Freshman libero Emma Curry (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills) led all participants with 17 digs, to go along with two aces, while senior opposite Aniyah Kelley (Newcastle, DE/William Penn) totaled three blocks.
Senior outside hitter Alexis Sison contributed a double-double of 13 kills on .344 hitting and 13 digs to pace SUNY Brockport (17-8/9-2 E8), the three seed.
The Golden Eagles, now winners of 12 of their past 14 matches, will face either Utica or Hartwick on Wednesday in the Semifinals.
Gator Bites with Papa John's: With the October 24 3-2 win at Elmira, RSC clinched a return trip to the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament for the second-straight fall…The Gators qualified for the E8 playoffs for the first time in program history in 2024…Seven players return this season, including: Kelley and Gerkman…Head Coach Rosilyn Cummings, now in her third season at the helm of the Gators, added nine newcomers to this year's squad…Gerkman was selected the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, August 31…Curry was tabbed the E8 Rookie of the Week for the period ending Sunday, October 26…She opened the weekend ranked second in the Conference in digs and digs per-set, and third in both aces and aces per-set…Kelley commenced the playoffs fifth in the E8 with a .262 hitting percentage, while freshman middle hitter Julia Morales (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) sat fourth in the Conference with 0.69 blocks per-set.
