Diba Reaches 50 Career Goals in Road Finale

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – In its final road game of the season, Russell Sage College Men's Lacrosse had two players score a pair of goals in Saturday's 14-4 Empire 8 Conference setback at SUNY Brockport.
Senior attacker Mame Diba (New York, NY/Haldane), who became the eighth Gator to reach 50 career goals this afternoon, and sophomore midfielder Carson Pesce (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) netted the RSC goals.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jordon Hankel (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane), the Conference leader in saves per-game, turned aside 18 shots by the Golden Eagles, while senior midfielder Gamo Koulibaly (Aurora, CO/Rangeview) won three face-offs, caused a pair of turnovers, and corralled three groundballs.
SUNY Brockport (3-12/3-4 E8) had a dozen players tally at least one point in the home win.
RSC (3-7/1-6 E8) closes its spring with a pair of home contests. The Gators host SUNY Poly on Wednesday afternoon.
Gator Bites with Papa John's: The spring marks the second with Erich Skelly at the helm of Russell Sage College Men's Lacrosse…Nine players return from last year's squad, highlighted by co-captains: senior defender Brady Dubay (Altamont, NY/CBA), Hankel, and Pesce…Hankel registered program single-season records of 242 saves, 14.24 per-game, and a 53.5 save percentage in 2025…He closed his rookie season leading the Empire 8 Conference in both saves and saves per-game…Hankel passed Michael Capitelli '22 for first place on the program's career saves list at No. 11 Saint John Fisher on March 28…The sophomore, who closed the weekend with 423 career stops, sits atop the Empire 8 Conference in save per-game…Diba finished the afternoon with 95 career points on 50 goals and 45 assists...He ranks seventh in program records for points, eighth in goals, and third in assists…Robert Martin scored 51 goals between 2019 and 2021, while Jake McElwee dished out 50 assists between 2021 and 2025.
