RSC Softball Sweeps Keuka to Secure Home E8 Playoff Game

The Gators (19-19/12-10 E8), which will receive a visit from Utica in a single-game elimination contest that afternoon, were victorious by scores of 8-2 and 15-4 (Five Innings).
RSC, which totaled 21 hits across the pair of wins, had seven players tally multiple hits this afternoon.
Junior infielder Annalise Tyler (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont), among the Conference leaders in multiple statistical categories, spearheaded the attack, going 4-for-6 with five runs scored and an RBI.
Sophomore outfielder Carmela DeMaio (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) added four hits in seven at-bats, three runs scored, and two RBI.
"We're excited to have another opportunity to play at home and compete for our spot in the Tournament," commented RSC Head Coach Stephanie McKay. "It will be a great contest between us and Utica and we are looking forward to it."
RSC scored the final six runs of the opener.
Senior catcher Emma Heartquist (Stuyvesant, NY/Ichabod Crane) went 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI to pace the Gators. She had a two-run double in the third to open the scoring before tripling home Tyler with a sixth-inning insurance marker.
The Gators started quickly in the second game, holding a 3-1 lead after the first inning. RSC used a six-run fourth to end the twin bill early.
Junior Hailey Jasinski stood out for Keuka (6-25/4-18), now on an eight-game losing streak. The shortstop went 6-for-6 with two runs scored on the day.
