Dugan Tabbed PGCBL Pitcher of the Week
NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Baseball right-hander Asa Dugan (Morris, NY/Morris Central) was tabbed an Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) Pitcher of the Week for the period ending Sunday, June 7th.
Dugan, playing this summer for the Oneonta Outlaws, has started his season off with one win and one save while posting a 0.96 earned run average across two appearances totaling 9.1 innings pitched.
In his first appearance against the Boonville Lumberjacks, the righty went 6.1 innings in relief, allowing just one run on four hits to lead the Outlaws to a 6-4 victory. He notched six strikeouts and did not allow a single walk. In his second appearance on June 5, Dugan came into the game with his team already up, 2-0. He threw the three scoreless innings, bagging three strikeouts while only allowing two hits and one walk to lock down the shutout win.
The right-hander helped the Gators qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the first time. He made 12 appearances, won three games and saved a pair of RSC victories. Dugan registered 19 strikeouts across 21.1 innings, while helping RSC win the Empire 8 Conference regular season and tournament championships.
