Gators Hit .417 in Home Sweep of Bard

The Gators, which had four players tally at least six kills, were victorious by scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-18.
Junior outside hitter Sean Pingelski (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) registered a double-double of 15 kills on .591 hitting and 12 digs to lead RSC.
Junior outside hitter Spencer Cooper (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) and junior opposite Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) chipped in nine kills each. Cooper, who hit .375 elevated six Bard attacks, while Fox had three assists and a block.
Sophomore middle blocker Evan Devine (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) rounded out the quartet with six kills on .400 hitting, with sophomore setter Anthony Guetti (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), who became just the fourth Gator to surpass 1,000 career assists on January 31 vs. SUNY Poly, contributing 31 assists and six digs.
Sophomore Ansel Waisler, announced as the New England Volleyball Conference Player of the Week on Monday, paced Bard (3-6) with eight kills on .160 hitting and seven digs. The outside hitter, a first-team All-NEVC pick as a rookie, was one of three Raptors with a half dozen or more kills.
Looking at the schedule, the teams will meet again in NEVC action on Friday, March 27 at Bard. Up next, RSC (2-7) has a tri-match on Saturday against No. 14 SUNY New Paltz and Rivier. The matches will be held at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium, on the former campus of The College of Saint Rose, starting at 2:00 PM.
