The Gators, which fell by scores of 25-22, 25-19, 25-13, had five players tally multiple kills against the nationally-considered foe.
Junior opposite Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) led the hosts with nine kills.
Sophomore outside hitter John Lindheimer (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) added seven kills, four digs and an ace, while senior middle hitter Marcus Gentile (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central) registered four kills on .375 hitting.
Sophomore setter Anthony Guetti (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) contributed three kills on .333 hitting, 20 assists, three aces and three digs.
Vassar (10-8), which totaled seven blocks and seven aces, received at least four kills from six different players in the road victory.
Looking ahead, the Gators (7-15) host Curry and Hartwick for a Saturday afternoon tri-match.
