ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Men's Volleyball fell to visiting Endicott 3-1 in Saturday afternoon New England Volleyball Conference action.
Sophomore outside hitter John Lindheimer (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) topped the Gators (7-11/1-1 NEVC), which had a five-match winning streak come to a close, with 14 kills.
Junior opposite Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) added 10 kills, seven digs, and three blocks, while sophomore middle blocker Evan Devine (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) registered seven kills and three blocks.
Sophomore setter Anthony Guetti (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) doled out 39 assists and elevated nine Endicott attacks, with freshman libero Eliseo Nogueras III (Pawtucket, RI/LaSalle Academy) having a team-high 11 digs. The output moved Guetti past Casey Fitzpatrick '18 for third place on the program's career assist record board. Guetti, now with 1,417 career helpers, should remain in that three spot for a while as the top-two Gator distributors both have more than 2,700 career assists.
Endicott (10-3/2-0 NEVC), receiving votes in the latest AVCA national poll, won by scores of 25-18, 25-21, 21-25, 25-20.
Senior outside hitters Aiden Iacovelli, a two-time first-team All-NEVC performer, and Jake Laborde paced the Gulls, now on a nine-match winning streak. Iacovelli, an AVCA All-Region pick last season, recorded 19 kills on .310 hitting and ten digs, while Laborde contributed 12 kills and nine digs.
Looking ahead, the Gators continue NEVC play on Saturday at SUNY Poly.
