Junior outside hitter Sean Pingelski (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) topped the Gators, which fell by scores of 25-23, 25-16, 25-17, with eight kills on .200 hitting.
Junior opposite Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) added seven kills, while sophomore setter Anthony Guetti (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) tallied 22 assists.
Sophomore outside hitter John Lindheimer (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) contributed five kills, with freshman libero Eliseo Nogueras III (Pawtucket, RI/LaSalle Academy) elevating 11 Springfield attacks.
The Pride (14-3) hit .478 as a team and had five players register at least four kills in the sweep.
Junior middle blocker Brennan Cutter paced Springfield, now 10-0 at home, with eight kills on .778 hitting.
RSC (7-13) returns to New England Volleyball Conference action on Saturday at SUNY Potsdam.
Gator Bites with Papa John's: The spring marks the fifth with Reid Hartl at the helm of Russell Sage College Men's Volleyball…The Gators, coming off a run to the Quarterfinals of the New England Volleyball Conference Championship Tournament for the second-straight year, return eight players from last season's team…Fox, the 2024 NEVC Rookie of the Year, and Guetti highlight the returning Gators…Fox, voted second-team All-NEVC, headed into the 2025 postseason ranked second in the Conference with 320 kills…Guetti became the fourth RSC player to surpass 1,000 career assists on January 31 vs. SUNY Poly… The sophomore moved into third place on the program's career assist list on Saturday, February 28 vs. Endicott....Hartl added five newcomers to the roster…The Gators have seven programs that earned votes in the AVCA preseason coaches' national poll on their schedule...Fox was chosen the E8 Conference Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 22...He registered 30 kills on .434 hitting in the 3-0 week, all 3-0 road victories...The junior recorded 17 kills on .483 hitting across four sets in the doubleheader at VTSU: Johnson on Saturday, February 21...Fox tallied 15 of those on .636 hitting in the NEVC contest, a 3-0 sweep by RSC.
