Gator Bites with Papa John's: The spring marks the fifth with Reid Hartl at the helm of Russell Sage College Men's Volleyball…The Gators, making their third-straight appearance in the NEVC Tournament, have been on a heater down the stretch…RSC won six of the last seven matches of the regular season, including the last four…The lone loss was a home 3-0 loss to No. 1 Springfield on March 25…RSC defeated Nichols, the three-time defending NEVC Champions, 3-2 on Wednesday, April 1…Seven players return from last season's team…Junior opposite Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie Central), the 2024 NEVC Rookie of the Year, and sophomore setter Anthony Guetti (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) highlight the returning Gators…Fox, voted second-team All-NEVC last season, heads into the postseason ranked sixth in the Conference with 291 kills…The opposite is one of three Gators that went into Wednesday's Quarterfinal in the top eight of the NEVC in kills...Sophomore outside hitter John Lindheimer III (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) is seventh with 233 kills, while senior outside hitter Sean Pingelski (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) tallied 224 kills, good for eighth...Guetti sits third in the Conference in assists per-set (8.93) and aces per-set (0.37)...The sophomore setter became the fourth RSC player to surpass 1,000 career assists on January 31 vs. SUNY Poly…Hartl added five newcomers to the roster…The Gators played seven programs that earned votes in the AVCA preseason coaches' national poll this spring…Fox was selected the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 22…The opposite registered 30 kills on .434 hitting to help the Gators have a 3-0 week, all 3-0 road victories…Sophomore middle blocker Evan Devine (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) finished the regular season ranked third in the NEVC with a .385 hitting percentage…He registered 33 kills on .588 hitting, five aces, nine total blocks, three digs, and an assist in the final week wins vs. Nichols, Fisher, and Curry...The NEVC and the E8 both selected the sophomore as their Player of the Week for his efforts.

It's always nice to have a win on senior night and for it to be against the reigning conference champions, it adds a whole other level. Potsdam Points: The Bears earned hosting rights for Wednesday afternoon by virtue of sweeping RSC on March 14…Middle hitter Matthew Kilinski (Greenfield Center, NY/Saratoga Springs) has to be at the top of the scouting report…The graduate student, the 2025 NEVC Player of the Year, leads the NEVC with 3.85 kills per-set and 4.2 points per-set…Senior Michael Kilinski (Greensfield Center, NY/Saratoga Springs) is atop the Conference with a .390 hitting percentage...He ranks fourth on the circuit with 0.91 blocks per-set…Junior setter Alex Lombardo enters the postseason tops in the NEVC with 9.18 assists per-set, while freshman libero Rowan Root sits second with 3.45 digs per-set.
